Welcome to TIDAL PAGES: Turning the tide on equity

An online directory of BIPOC-owned businesses in San Diego County

We empower our community to create waves of change by making it easy to find and support local businesses owned by people of color.

Our goal is to combat generational wealth gaps that exist in communities of color by encouraging people and businesses to do business with businesses owned by Black, Indigenous, Latine, and other people of color.

By supporting BIPOC-owned businesses, we are not only bolstering local economies but also addressing the longstanding wealth gap that has disproportionately affected communities of color.

Background: How Tidal Pages came to be

Time to turn the tide

For too long, finding and supporting BIPOC-owned businesses in San Diego has been an arduous journey. Entrepreneurs Erika Rodriguez and Revekka Balancier commiserated about this shared frustration among community members, igniting a spark for change. The desire to create a positive impact for BIPOC business owners and their communities led to a reimagining of Erika’s original TIDAL PAGES focused on global sustainability. Inspired by the success of Colorado’s ShopBIPOC.com directory, they envisioned a similar platform that would empower San Diegans to support local, BIPOC-owned businesses.

When we choose to shop with BIPOC-owned businesses, we invest in the dreams and aspirations of entrepreneurs, creating opportunities for job growth and community development.

Making Waves of Change

TIDAL PAGES is more than just a directory; it’s a collaborative effort to create a thriving ecosystem for BIPOC entrepreneurs. The partnership brought together complementary expertise to build a platform that truly makes a difference. Erika’s NADI Marketing, with deep roots in the community and experience in supporting sustainable businesses, spearheads the recruitment of BIPOC businesses and facilitates partnership opportunities. Revekka’s Axiom of Purpose, with expertise in marketing, transformed the vision into a powerful brand designed to inspire and engage the community with ongoing marketing support to ensure businesses see change happen. The final piece was bringing in a non-profit partner to help secure grants for this effort, ensuring there would not be cost barriers for BIPOC business participation. Enter Alex Waters, Executive Director and Founder of The Program Labs – a non-profit organization created at the intersection of social impact and entrepreneurship – the perfect fiscal agent for this endeavor.
